Students leaving campus policy

Dear Gabrielino Families,

To alleviate confusion about our attendance policy related to students leaving campus for appointments, this information was mailed to all families in early 2018.

If your child needs to leave campus, they can

  1. be signed out from the Student Center by a parent/guardian or someone on the emergency list.
  1. Or you can send a signed note with your child showing the date, time and reason that the student needs to leave.

For your reference, this is the exact language from the district policy:

Early Departure: A student who leaves school early may be signed out by a parent or guardian or may leave school with written permission.

Parents must sign their students out in the administrative office at school.  Only those listed on the emergency card are able to sign a student out of school.

If a parent sends a note to release a student, the notes must contain the date and time to be excused, parent or guardian signature, and a contact number.  If a student is walking or driving to their destination, this must be indicated on the note.

Please contact me if you have any additional questions or concerns.
