10th grade tests will be available online starting September 27th and ending October 4, 2019. The link will be live starting on September 27th.
The PSAT is a standardized, multiple-choice test that includes three sections: critical reading, mathematics, and writing. The test provides practice for the SAT and offers insight for advising and counseling students. The PSAT allows 11th grade students the opportunity to potentially qualify for a National Merit scholarship if they receive a very high score (generally the top 1%).
Gabrielino has ordered a limited number of PSAT/NMSQT tests for 10th graders. These will be available to students on a first-come, first-serve basis and will cost $40.
Gabrielino is receiving a discount on its PSAT/NMSQT from the College Board by agreeing not to test 9th graders. PSATs will NOT be sold to 9th graders.
The PSAT/NMSQT will be given on Wednesday, October 16th to all 11th grade students and 10th graders who have purchased the test. There is no charge for the 11th grade students. The test will begin at 8:00 and end before lunch at 12:29.
Please note that there is no modified schedule to accommodate test takers. Students taking the PSAT will miss their morning classes.
For students who are not taking the exam, school will continue as normal.
