Distance Learning takes place each weekday. All other school and events cancelled through June 4th.
During an emergency meeting on April 2nd, the SGUSD Board of Education determined to extend the physical school closures until the end of the academic year. This decision aligns with the recommendation from the recommendation from Los Angeles County Superintendent of Schools Debra Durado and State Superintendent Tony Thurmond.
Based on this decision, all SGUSD schools will remain physically closed for the remainder of the school year.
Distance Learning began on Monday, April 6th. Students need to sign in to their sgusd.net email for further instructions.
GHS teachers have contacted all students through Google Classroom to post assignments.
Teachers will determine what communication method works best for them and their students.
Teachers will establish norms for distance learning with their students.
Daily Attendance will be taken every day.
Students need to check in through Google Classroom with their Embedded Time teacher anytime between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day.
SGUSD is developing a credit/no credit policy to address grading during distance learning. The policy will align with California Department of Education, LA County Office of Education and UC/CSU guidelines. More information will be forthcoming.
