all right good evening I hope we're on anything so fast and I'm the assistant principal in charge of Gabrielino Athletics and we're having some glitches with the link it's been corrected and it should be accessible on the website so if you go back you can hit the zoom link if people are texting you are still wondering if it should be up and run I'm going to ask if we were going to wait about a minute you're just make sure that we allow people time to to check on it my apologies for putting the wrong link up okay bence I was able to challenge Tokyo that's if you just tell me know we had some issues with the link we posted the wrong link on the website so we've corrected that if students are parents are still trying to log on if they go back to the website the link is correct in this be able to log on and then we will start the presentation there shortly so my apologies for the link okay I think we're going to get started so that we can stay on our time a my name is Enzo Perez on the assistant principal of cavallino and I also have Harold seen in MRI Flex right to hear Gabrielino High School on to present information regarding our return-to-play policies and procedures play move forward in this virtual world it's been a process because it changes everyday and we get direction from the county office of health and then they give us directions and were able to move forward and I know that in some neighboring districts they moved a little sooner but we wanted to make sure that those policies were in place so that we can make an informed decision and that we could move forward and then not make changes so at this point where we're going to present what we have planned for the the first phase of this return-to-play I return to Athletics and then we'll answer regarding the specific Sports and end and how it's been set up through the CIF office and Sue are our league and to the season of sport so we'll be moving through the side press Jason & S you get to the the return-to-play plan is to give us an opportunity to bring students oranges a voluntary program or a voluntary opportunity we have not started the season of sport acquaint CIF they've allowed us a window to bring students are work with students before the actual start the season so this is the face one of return and the San Gabriel Unified School District has put in protective measures to make sure that we protect our students and we stay safe those protective measures will be a fall for each program by each coaching as we go. the presentation it's really important that we abide by those and and follow the times and direction of the head coach so that we don't have any problems with didn't overlapping one thing I wanted to endurance presentation if you have questions to ask them in the Q&A section cooks and what will answer those questions and if there are questions that we need to elaborate on we will we visit at the end they'll be napping need to ask questions at the end of the presentation but if you miss something are you you have a question that you want answered mediately and we can do that in the Q&A section of the of the web of the webcast so again we would like students to to come onto the campus but we want to make sure that they're protected but we can't guarantee that there won't be an issue so we will follow all the county get out guy in regards to the protocols to protect against kulve they'll be mandatory screening questions that will be asked and we'll show those in a minute and we will take temperature checks and then students will need to maintain a distance of 8 feet at all so that's waiting to get into the facility and then once they are participating in whatever training process that they go through they will need to be a part-time students are athletes are expected to arrive and depart alone so they shouldn't come in groups they shouldn't come with their friends they should come by themselves be dropped off and then go to the designated area no gaster family member May attend the practice so once we have students dropped off there going to be in a a gated area so that they're the only students in that area and then there won't be any Crossover with any other program or group no shared equipment or closed no shared water everybody must bring their impersonal water to make sure that we bring in large and large enough amount so I would recommend that people bring a bag or a duffel bag so that they can keep all their their items together and then have limited restroom availability and again that's for protection and and and cleaning and protection orders of the students of the practice times won't be extensive button and we're looking at a gradual move back into an active environment sorry concussion so if these are our the question will be asked at he had funny Simpsons in the last 10 days. Fever chills cough shortness of breath difficulty breathing if you answer yes to any of those you are not allowed to come onto the campus don't even come in and and let us know you stay home have you had contact with the person known to be infected within the last 14 days the same thing if you answer yes to either one of those question then you are to stay home and not come to the practice those will be asking students will be again walk through those two questions in the temperature will be taken and then they'll be allowed into the area the return-to-play players is in phases so we have a phase 1 and I think some of the the verbage might get a little crossover Phase 1 and Phase 2 and phase 3 for our purposes phase one is this initial phase so students are coming in they'll be screened they can't have anymore and together at one time so it's one coach / 10 individuals the activities will be in small pot area so we'll know when we get to another side will show you how was space them out and then they're staying and your work to line drills or are some running drills that 8-foot distance need to be observed throughout that that time there won't be any shared equipment Austin's weather on clothing and then take everything back so if they have towels or anything that they're using to change it close that should be with them in their whole time and then again bring their own water bottle after we get things Phase 1 end County Office of health will give us direction is when we can move out of this Faith then we would move to phase 2 and Phase 2 is then a little a little more inclusive we still can't more than 10 people inside but we can have 50 students are athletes outside in an outdoor space there are two to stay apart when possible and then their activities again working in small group they can work in the weight training area and then low risk sports bike cross-country Golf and it be individual swimming and sideline cheer resume competition so we Pacific direction from the county office as to what exactly that means so we're able to run races and then the guidelines that are allowed to be in place for a cross country race if we go out golf people can be in in the group of players and and what's the process that they interact with each other and then swim would be individual races and then how would we protect students on the deck and inside we need to get direction as to what their proximity would be to that competition or what they can do as far as a routine so again it's a little unclear because we get that direction Wake County Office the equipment again I won't be shared in those particular golf in and cross-country tomorrow I should just say golf Hazard on golf balls and then take the kids to keep dust then everything else is personal so down on the bottom is the definition of a low-risk sport and why they deem that to be acceptable and then we would move to the to the next phase so we don't make that determination the county office makes that determination so then phase 3 again more more ability to interact in the modern sports practices are competitions that may resume would be basketball volleyball baseball-softball soccer and track so the definition is on the bottom of the sheet will be doing we would be doing more and cleaning and then as far as the equipment there would be shared balls so there would be a again protocols ask you how many basketballs do you have how many volleyballs would have to be in place so that we could have the ability to clean and rotate that equipment to do so that there wasn't a lot a lot of interaction OVI Florida Clearance Store those are the safety protocols that we have as far as returning them the students back to the campus but we also have the athletic requirements that we've always had so the athletic packets need to be completed and now we're using an online program athleticclearance.com are you can go to our website go to the Athletics have to click on that and then it has an explanation of what's needed for that their necks and how to upload those documents you got to create an account and log in and then it walks you through all of that has to be taken care of before student can come to the campus and practiced the physical must be dated after June 1st and then act uploaded into the the program once that information is up on the program that our coaches have the ability to check that website and then we will give the clearance and then the coaches will do allow those players to come onto the campus if they're not clear shoes that athletic clearance then they will not be allowed into a practice session the everything is done online so if there's you would need to send us an email and we can look in to see what specific piece is not not there or needs to be fixed the only thing that we ask is there is a 24-hour turnaround so if you turn in you go to the website and you put your athletic stuff in at 10 we may not be able to clear that for the three practice that day so we're going to ask for a 24 hour turn around on when you turn your your packet so if you turn in the packet on Monday then you'll be able to come to practice on Tuesday and then I guess it. All the paperwork is cleared in and everything is is so it's a 24-hour turnaround and any athletic question on the cleaners peace and everything I can say it is online and listed in that that area so the seasons that were talking about because the CIF in and because of the climate that rent they they changed when Seasons started in Monday ended cross country football girls volleyball are in the same grouping and it's been moved back to a start date of December 7th and then they brought boys volleyball from a spring track a Spring sport go to this winter or fall season so that's really the big change that that happened all the other sports are going to be moved back to a spring season and they have different start times POTUS meaning to be a specific to the fall into these five sports that we do currently have and then we can explain the process for the next week is a sport as we get closer and we'll have a similar meeting where we can talk about I start time in and out coaches will interact with them right now because we are in small cohorts we're only going to bring on the five sports that are coming up in season softball fall back those other sports will have an opportunity to to move into a practice session once we've established protocols and we get direction from the county office we are limited on face we are we are tight facility so some of that will be dictated on just our ability to actually have room for four other program but we are having our team meeting today on small workouts a smoke report can begin on November 2nd so we're not saying that all programs are expected to start on Monday but we have the ability to start so it's it's going to be dependent upon how quickly we can clear Claire's and then just a number so I want to again emphasize that we're easing into this this season that were trying to work is out but we want to do in the state of matter sub there isn't a rush to get there tryouts I will need to begin in early December because we all need to establish teams and then our team practices begin Monday December 7th and then football pads in in practice with December 14th again all of this is dependent upon the county office giving us Direction and and allowing us to move from Phase 1 through phase 3 & Beyond because we have to get out of Space 3 to get to fall practice football and wrestling are the high-risk Sports and those are the ones that we would need to be in a better situation before we can entertain that activity coaches and contact information So Co kammerman wood is responsible for the cross-country program and he will dictate when practices start and then where they would go Cubs game is responsible for boys volleyball coach can shop for girls volleyball and Coach Lorenzo men up for football so good cameraman has a. Net account and Coach men has put a Gmail account for contact you can reach out to them to get more information on specific times I put a Google sheet or a Google form on the bottom that we can fill out and we're trying to establish School accounts Robert coaches in summer coaches Rock campus up until we can get that established we'll just have everybody thought the form and on the Google form you'll put your name and email address students won't be allowed to come campus until they get notification from their Co the coach will decide will determine the pods or the group of 10 and they will determine the time that those players would come to the campus so if you don't receive an email if you don't get the confirmation from the tub you need to keep reaching out because because we can't have students arriving on the campus and then waiting in groups to decide where they're going so you will be told before you get to campus what time you're supposed to be here and what group you're part of and when I get to the next slide little show where those those entry points are because they'll be different for each program at the end of tonight we will be out of this presentation recorded with posters on the aside and then you can just log into these besides on that form and we'll also throw it up in the chat at the very end so that you can click on that and you can put that information in right away and then on Monday will have updated websites for email addresses for each of the programs target practice expectations in and this is what we were talking about a little bit earlier you need by yourself enough time to get here and be screened and you can travel loan with what I mean by that is if we're starting practice at 3:15 you need to get here about 3:10 so that we can process you through the gate at 3 15 or 3:18 they're going to lock the gate and then that's going to be at so if you come late you won't be allowed to come in then the students will be taking to their pot areas though the work out and that the completion of that they'll be expected to exit is the same gate passing through and then the second group would come in about 15 minutes after that and then they get processed through the gate they go to their at their pot area they practice in the neighborhood lead so if we have teams of over 60 participants we don't have enough coaches so we have to spread those out and then the length of time needs to be in enough time where we can get in and out of there expected to come dressed you go with their water account and then they need to wear a mask so I'll mask a mask is needed throughout the practice if the conditioning is is rigorous they can take them stop is directed by the coach and then when that activities over they need to put their mask back on anytime that they're waiting and maybe they're explaining the job they need to have their masks on so the coaches will be mad and players are expected when they're not doing heavy exercise and then less the practice is over expectations that they believe immediately that we don't linger in the parking lot and we don't got to gather in groups out in the parking area or off campus thought we stood up the campus in two different groups cross-country would go out to the baseball field and they would enter into the Outfield gate and if you look at the map there's an arrow that leaves near the on the north side of the campus boys volleyball enter into a small gate near the softball field and they have the softball area girls volleyball entrance to the bike racks go to the front the school and then they will work out in the senior quad and the the center quad of the campus so they'll be in indoors in the main part of the campus and then the football team will come in through the Stadium gate and then they'll enter into the stadium in the bleachers they'll stay in those areas so whatever duration time it took to set for that that work out if it's an hour if it's 45 minutes a half an hour they'll stay in that area. They are all gay. There's no way they can cross paths and then they're expected to eggs at the same gate that they entered and then leave the campus and and go home so why the information that were using to to design our are programmers coming from these reference places on the national Federation of High School School Association and the national athletic trainers Association and then there was a document that was specifically covid-19 pandemic you can click on those those sites and you can read through a lot of the information that they have their as far as safety and and what we would need to do to make sure that that are our student-athletes are protected so hopefully I got through a lot of that has been answering the questions in the Q&A I think now we're open to directions if we have questions let me look at what will mature be practice so on cheer right now because we don't have specific guidelines of where the cheer can do early on when we got information about bar when they were opening of the football practices out of state they were saying they were limited to essential Personnel so it was only the football team the coaches and I think one administrator so there were no staff members to an additional people that were a lie how to be at the site so we're waiting to get clarification of what we can do with cheer or band in regards to support at at the game we don't believe Point. Allow fans and so then we need more clarification so whether that cheer can be on the field in close proximity to the team or they have to be in the stands away from the team and then what guidelines do we need also we're going to wait and get the reaction after we get out of phase one and we get the face too and then we'll have a clearer picture and what we want to do so if we're before able to have cheer we absolutely want to have it but at this moment we're holding to get directions from the county office what are the LA County Health requirements to get football to get to Pace 3 I don't know if they're there looking at the numbers of people infected and number of hospitalizations and they they make it I'm not sure how they they decide right now I know that the numbers are going up but they do some of the restrictions so we're allowed to bring some students on to the campus and I don't know what this right shoulder or why they they felt like that was acceptable so they again will tell us if we can increase that. That interaction can you still be on a team to pay in taxes if we choose didja yes if you're a member of the campus and whether you're in a digital platform or whether you're in a hybrid you're able to play if you don't come to the campus right now during this Phase 1 Arie integration return-to-play you're still allowed to play this is optional and this is voluntary and when we get to the point where we're actually having tryouts then just those decisions will be made it as far as having things put together because you did or did not participate right now doesn't exclude you from that process and whether you go to class on campus or you stay home it doesn't it doesn't affect your ability play what requirements must be met in order to move into phase 1 2 and 3 again we are going to get direction from the county office today when they tell us that we can increase activities and we will increase it if it's a person's first time doing sports are they allowed to participate in conditioning spray trials not happening yet yeah requirement is that you have your physical done and that all of the athletic clearance information has been cleared and and and you're you cleared up that participate but yes you can be with which other program you're interested in participating any specific days for girls and boys volleyball I think we're again we're hoping that we can have tryouts in the first week of December because games begin December 19th for girls December 14th for boys I had a they start games pretty quickly so we will need to have I have some teams determined that time so again right now we're not in it you don't have the ability to run a tryout so we're just working on conditioning but if they don't clear us until the end of December then that's when we'll have our tribe is it depends on the county office you filled out the Atlantic Clarence Google doc will we be emailed the packet everything that goes up fine by Clarence. Net to our database and then we find out the information that we give to our coaches sub the confirmation when I keep that over to coach staying in and do we on the outside Clarence. Net do they get a response back if they're cleared or do we have to send something they will get a response and the response will say that they've completed the form they aren't cleared until everything gets revised by one of our staff members and then once it gets revised and that would be enough to coach will be notified that they're clear if they're not there then we'll send him a note saying or an email saying that indicating with their Miss okay thank you waiting room for football limited entries limited the same thing on and I know this is a broken record but the ability go indoors and the ability to use locker room for equipment will be dependent on the county office so as they start to move us to phase 1 to phase 2 to phase 3 then we can use indoor facility there's a limited used to that so yeah we would follow the cleaning protocols and yeah we would try to access those faces when we get an opportunity if I went to practice we're allowed to opt out or not attend at some point that the parents chew so went to practice okay I'm not technically and what that question winter crisis are we allowed to opt out so if you went to the practice and you decided you didn't want to you didn't want to do the activity or the practice Yeah it's your choice if it's long Cherry so if you come to the practice there are movements and activities that the coaches will have their drills that they would have structured and if you don't feel comfortable or if after the first day you think that that might have been a little too much you don't have to come back you just need to let the coach know that you're no longer attending but yeah you you can you can do that to be in contact with the coach and it's later on Ali movie two or three and you feel more comfortable and in doing that you're absolutely you can come back and again we will abide by whatever the tryout. Is so we can't bypass by the tryouts would still have to go to the shop and then once the pastor done then those decisions will be rendered based on that tryout but right now yeah if you don't feel comfortable you don't need to come what phase can soon start using the weight room again and I think it's restart to use out weights I think in the outdoors in phase two and then phase 3 there's limited use of weights and again will get direction from the county office and procedures if an athlete contacts Co he has that effect the other athletes on the team so if we get someone who test positive for covid-19 facing that we have the students in that group of the player in that group the players along with that group will be notified that there has been a contact and that that group will then be quarantined so if I'm in a group with Coach Shannon and we run to our line drills and then yeah I get sick then we will contact coach scene in Family and tell them that there has been a case of Kobe and that there that Jose needs to be quarantined for 14 days so and then we will test get verification when that student is cleared and then I think it's following the the protocols at home so if you have symptoms or if you want to go get tested you you certainly can go get tested my strength has been. you are quarantine and unless you still symptoms and then when you show symptoms you need to get checked if you don't show symptoms then it's up to the family whether they want to be tested or not but you you certainly cannot come back 13 days will there be time limits on practices I think we're going to be limited by space and a numbers for right now that the coaches will be returning those  right now I none of none of the coaches have talked about going Beyond 45 minutes to an hour of activity and it maybe even less as we begin and as we ramp up I guess it seemed increase to to maybe an hour but each individual coach will determine that the length of practicing you would have to talk to that that coach if there's a child senior year I 20% know fans will they video and take pictures so have them so that is absolutely in our minds daddy. That is a piece that we're talking about how do we tell castanon in how can we make this accessible because yeah families want to see see their kids play so we are thinking about that right now I can't see any definitive answer but it's certainly something that we will I will chords participation be determined I'm guessing there's a limited to who can come to practice so yes it is again up to the coach and I think what we're trying to determine right now how is just enough so some programs be thankful have I turn out and some programs we we may not so it's it's it's tough for us to make those determinations so again that's going to be up to the coach and that's going to be non going conversation between the administration and and the program's as to how can we best facilitate access to all participants is it is it a matter of spacer safety cause cheer is not as high-risk as football so I think what their competitive cheer is I think one of the I think it might be a high-risk I have to go look the competitor certainly more advanced and so do they they don't get the cleaners align chair I think they're saying that it's okay because they're not I think they're seeing silent chairs not tumbling and not grows so students are being asked to do to move in space in and have spiders are there going to be changed in there they're staying on the ground and it's mostly individual so I don't know why I know there's that there's a they clarify between the two so they competitive cheer and their styling chair and there are distinctly different the Athletics with the students info or the parents to send in your p**** like that when asked you that students form a student's information that we don't want it'll be like medical history and be all of that stuff now the parents it would be the parents address to parents phone number and contact information and I have the parents Insurance of parents will have to sign and and give consent for their their kids to participate I think that that that will cover that part I think I answered the question let me know if you still need more answer there okay sure is considered low red so shouldn't we be able to practice again right now we're just doing conditioning and when we get clarification as to what the expectations are in cheer and how they would be associated with the competitions in demo move forward and we would need to have and that trial. Has not been okayed for any team is it possible is it possible for virtual child as other schools have done condition also taking place surgical not open today. I think cross country is already put out classes to you how they made deal with this virtual environment and end I think football is done the same so we're I think we're still open and you can still work on things I'm outside of the school this is just a little more clarity with Coach Inn in proximity but again it's up to each individual program in touch whether they would do a virtual practice or virtual chat we we were concerned with the interaction because of we didn't know what what was taking place in and where the county office was moving so that that conversation is now expanded so if your coaches want to do stuff for they will be given the opportunity to do that Austin Spratt funeral pyre how many other agents playing with you the do the specific sport right now I don't have a I think we're we're just trying to have the list work with the coaches and getting conditioning as far as what happens with specific Sports and and numbers I think we don't want to get too far ahead of and I'm working in the White House. don't we get direction that we can start having tryouts and it looks like we're moving towards competitive season and in regards to the volleyball or cross-country than Google Pizza Hut the number of teams that were carrying and the number of contest that we will have why is true different from football are sport as well what is the difference on the chair there are their costs associated and a tryout process that is specific to those groups and we we are right now again sideline cheers is not a competition cheer and its associated with our competition right now we have not been given any direction as you by the we are going to have a competitive season or not so we're just trying to make sure that we begin the process of getting paperwork together protocols and play and then as we get to as we get closer in the mood from different face then we can give more specific answers so what would be the expectations of the cheer squad what contest with day I'll be a part of and what would your schedule look like in right now we don't have that information set a reminder to buy bread recipe how do we do so the hybrid is the questionnaire that was sent out I'm not exactly sure if I think it's been closed up if you contact me to esalen at the district office or if you just call the district office they can direct you to miss Iceland and she's the one that's responsible for designating whether you are going to be a distance learning program or whether you're going to be a part of the hybrid how I heard possibly players can participate in two sports in the fall in the same season is a yeah I think we're in a place where we are in an overlap of things that have not been over that before so that would be a discussion that we would have between each of the programs to it to make sure the clarity as to what the expectations are of that players in and what program they would be apart of so it is a possible that you just have to make sure that we communicate that with everybody so they know what the expectations are so that they they can plan for that so whether the kids on the team and they need that kid or their starter or their Sixth Man or whatever but yes it is possible what is the school's responsibility if my child catches Tobin that's again we are doing everything that we can to make sure that every student in every coaches is safe and that we follow the safety protocol so we will be following all of the directions that we be posted but we cannot guarantee that our child will not cast covid-19 you as a family will make that decision whether you feel comfortable just like when you made that decision is in regards to hybrid so I I don't know what guarantees we can get other than we will do our best to make sure that all the guidelines are followed and it can adhere to and that we will make sure that there is any negligence on our part we need to have a flight clearance with us at tryouts in any of the activities that were doing you have to be cleared so if you're coming to the the campus or if you're trying out for a team you have to be cleared to the athletic science.com self-esteem typically play a winter and spring sport therapy on both teams during the spring or will they have to choose but again I think that that's the a team by team player by player situation so if we can have a player play on both teams will be open to that that's not I thought out of the question it depends on when the games are being played in what sports were talking about so it just may be too difficult if the teams are playing at the same time so it's all basketball and soccer play two days a week and I don't know how we could a structure games and practices at the same time but that's something that can be talked through I don't know if you're a baseball and track or if you were moved wrestling and and track yeah that hasn't been a conflict in the past that we would do everything that we can to try and make that work so that I know that as soon as you participate in the two sports that they've always part 2 they didn't just because they they overlapped we took you don't want them to have to choose to go do our best to try to make it work if the number of cases haven't lured by the date they sport is supposed to start will the season be pushed back or canceled I think that's the big question and I think that's what CIF is wrestling with right now it looks like it's a long way for us to to get cleared to do football and football is right around the corner so I I don't know what CIF right now there they're staying strong with their days they said that they are not looking to to move the date that they want to start December 14th and that's their expectation and so they're waiting to see what happens as far as the covid-19 birth so that's out of our control so whenever they see I have two sides then we will abide by that but it again it's it's really based on what happens with the state and the county especially will there be a basketball season right now it's it's scheduled for spring season which is early February the coaches be contacting players this week for conditions begin next week yes so as you enter in those names on that Google for more you reach out to those coaches on the email addresses are listed they will be reaching out music to give you the specific information that you need so what time you need to be here and what group you're a part of so yes that they will absolutely be talking to you any other questions saying I missed so will the webinar presentation because yes it will be weird recording it and then we will we will post it on the website and in all the information will be updated as we get it solved the coaches contact of the email addresses so yeah communication is is is really big and important for us so you should keep checking the website we will keep updating that and then the coaches will have a space where they can they can check in Elite cheer teams in our legal practice English virtually yeah there are other schools that are already practicing and in the other athletic programs so we will get there as soon as we clear Direction cross country do we just sign the blue cards and wait for a response when we get back to ya so the blue cards so we're not using the blue cards anymore everything do I stay calm so so that's like, so if you have that you need to upload that and get their information into the cross country list Sue's got that program and then once you get but then again you need to sign up with the culture I reach out to coach Cameron and then he will reach back to you as to what time you need to practice in him with your group is all right I I think I think that cat that takes care of most of it so what I think what we'll do is we'll Post in the chat I've got Google form that so you can link into that if you go on to the Google form and on chat it'll take you to that phone just to let out that your name and your email address and then that information will be forwarded and then the coach to get back to you again that's just so we can get a list of that we can get you on that that date a list of that we can make contact it doesn't mean that you're cleared so you still have to do all the clearance in pieces or you can come to the practices and so if you have any other questions on that you can you meet email me here at the school or you can reach out to coach and Coach Lopez the other athletic director and then they can help answer those questions are athletic secretary here on Mondays and Wednesday so if you were to call on Monday and Wednesday she can help you and she can walk you through the athletics.com is well and if there's any other big issues again just just reach out and let us know and I get to work for easing into this is this something that we want to make sure that we do right and that we don't make any mistakes and there isn't any punishment or is anything bad going to happen if you're not a part of our practices right now during this phase one again will encourage you to check the website but every two weeks to look for notifications in once we get notification that we were moving to a different phase I will post that it will send out information if we're holding tryouts and if things have changed as far as the number of students that we can have on our campus all right well I want to thank everybody for being a part of this return to play I know it's it's a different time and in a different space but I can assure you that we are anxious to go Athletics going again and that we want there to be some competitions and participation because I think it's very important and students excelling in that environment and if we want to be able to provide that do that safely so again we are doing everything we can to make that happen all right so I want to thank again thank you for coming on and have a
